Newsies

Near the end of the summer my mom, my siblings and I all met up with my cousins in New York City. While we were there, we saw the show "Newsies". This is a relatively new show, it first performed at the Paper Mill Playhouse in 2011 and appeared on Broadway in 2012.

This show was amazing. The plot was a great one, with fun moments and deep, emotional parts as well. But the best part about the show was the music. The score was exceptional; there was amazing dancing music and upbeat songs, as well as numbers which were emotional such as "Santa Fe" and "Something to believe in". Adding to the incredible music was the dancing. The stage was alive with jumps and flips and spins as the newsies carried their papers around the city.

One of the coolest dances was when the newsies danced on newspapers, first ripping them in half and then sliding and spinning around on them, perfectly in time with the music.

Again, this show is amazing. The music, script and dancing all work perfectly together, and I recommend it to anyone visiting New York and looking for a broadway show to see!
